What is Sunshine in a Jar?
This site is dedicated to exploring my relationship with this metaphor. It is a phrase that found it’s way into my imagination and has changed the way I see the world.
My primary concern is with what is in the jar. I will begin my inquiry by exploring the sunshine. When I’ve exhausted all the possibilities, I will begin looking at the jar as a container for sunshine.
Sunshine is joy.
I want to capture joy in a jar so I can have a good look at what it is, how it affects the decisions we make, and how it influences our learning.
I want to explore how we can choose to live in the sunshine to achieve a life of bliss.
Follow your bliss. –Joseph Campbell
Sunshine is spirit.
I want to capture spirit in a jar to explore why the answers to my prayers are often written in the sun. My views of purpose and spirit are inextricably linked with my perspective as a Roman Catholic.
I want to explore the human spirit and seek out optimists, people who make our world a better place, those that inspire us, and those that use their arts to create sunshine.
Let’s choose to live in the sunshine…
Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air. Ralph Waldo Emmerson
