Educator

Jessica Outram is an award-winning high school English and Dramatic Arts teacher. Her current timetable includes Advanced Placement English, Writer’s Craft (EWC 4U1), and Studies in Literature (ETS 4U1). This year she also works as a Literacy Coach, supporting staff from eight departments in integrating critical literacy skills.  Jessica studies part-time.  In 2008, she began her Master of Education in Adult Education and Community Development at OISE, University of Toronto. Her research focuses on using metaphor to reinvogorate the inner lives of educators. Jessica volunteers as a mentor for internationally trained teachers with Skills for Change.

Writer

Jessica Outram is a Canadian playwright and writer. She is Playwright in Residence at StoneCircle Theatre

In 2008, StoneCircle Theatre produced Jessica’s two new companion plays inspired by many summers spent with family in Northern Ontario. Once Upon a Rocking Chair features the women of the De La Roche family and Hunt Week features the men of the family.  Stage permission is now available for interested theatre companies. Please contact Jessica for royalty information. 

Jessica is an active member of the Writers’ Community of Durham Region and an Associate Member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada.
